Participants must bring a dog with them. Anyone wishing to pursue a career in dog grooming is advised to attend the NPTC/Petcare Trust course also offered at Writtle College.
Certain breeds naturally need more attention e.g. Old English Sheepdogs, Poodles and Labradoodles. Skills are learnt over a longer period of time for these breeds and participants may wish to discuss this with the tutor before booking a place. Please contact short course training on 01245 421782 to arrange this.
We would recommend any dog, especially puppies, attend a grooming parlour or groomers before coming on this course, to familiarise them with surroundings and procedures. This will help to avoid distressing the dog.
Participants are required to wear sensible, covered footwear.
Dogs must be kept on the lead at all times unless otherwise directed by the instructor
Bitches in season should not attend
Vaccinations must be up-to-date on all dogs attending Writtle College courses
Please do not bring your dog if he or she is unwell. Any dog suspected of carrying a contagious disease will not be allowed to attend
No dogs are to be left unattended in vehicles on campus under any circumstances
If your dog fouls the training area please clear it up immediately
Writtle College reserves the right to refuse attendance to any dog considered to be a danger to the instructor, other participants and/or their dogs
Participants will require note taking equipment.
Free parking is available on campus; a permit will be issued and should be clearly displayed.
Participants are advised to bring a packed lunch. Morning and afternoon refreshments are provided.
