Information Services

Information Services
There are three areas of the College, which most students get to know very well; these are Computer Services, the Library and Media Resources.

Many aspects of these facilities exist for the benefit of students, which means that issues like opening times, versions of software etc. are planned with you in mind. Accessibility is key, so levels of service are continuously being revised in line with demand.

Computer Services

Students have access to eleven computer suites throughout the College, with high specification machines capable of running the latest versions of software and accessing the Internet and student Intranet. All students also have access to printing and scanning facilities, including high quality colour printing. The College also has a wide range of software products available to staff and students.

Advice and support on all IT-related matters is available from the support desk, located adjacent to the main computer suites. Expert guidance is available for at least 8 hours a day. Further assistance is availablle on the College Intranet which, for example, explains how to use the spreadsheet software and email system.

All students automatically receive their own network account for internet and email access. College email can be accessed from any computer connected to the Internet.

The College provides network connections in all halls of residence. This enables students living on campus who bring their own computers to access the Internet, Intranet and email facilities. [Contact the accommodation office for further details]
