Sport and Exercise Sciences

You live and breathe sport, and you want to use your passion and energy to help others reach their full potential. Our courses teach you the theory behind sport science, sports coaching and sport therapy.

With courses available in Cambridge and Writtle, we offer extensive specialist facilities where you'll gain hands-on experience along with all the support you'll need to succeed in the industry.

You'll learn in the classroom, laboratory, field, court or gym from highly-experienced tutors whose expertise covers nutrition, physiology, coaching, strength and conditioning, sport therapy, and more. Learn how to maximise sporting performance and gain invaluable hands-on experience, while studying in our specialist facilities.

Cambridge

Our Cambridge Centre for Sport and Exercise Science hosts an exercise testing consultancy and sport therapy clinic. Our extensive facilities and courses are accredited by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES), Society of Sport Therapists (SST) and CIMSPA.

You’ll learn from highly experienced practitioners and world leading researchers. Study with a work placement year on courses that are ranked consistently in the top of national league tables (Guardian University Guide 2021-23).

If you dream of working in the expanding sports and health industry, our practical courses at Writtle offer the skills, expert theory and qualifications you need to succeed.

The 150-hectare Writtle campus is located in the Essex countryside, on the edge of the village of Writtle. Home to plenty of outdoor space, extensive specialist teaching spaces and facilities, including the dedicated Centre of Sport and Health, and a friendly and supportive community, it's a great place to study.
